Corp. Frederick Mitchell Sr.
Served with Co.K 163rd Inf. U.S.Army during WW1 of 1917-18.
Beloved husband of Lillian 1911-1997 and father of Frederick Jr. 1942-2003 (Also a veteran) Fred died in Carson City NV in Dec. of 1964 at the age of 66.

In a 1929-1934 Indian census, he is shown being married to Majel or Mabel, and he is employed at Mount Pleasant Indian School in Michigan. He was a dairyman by trade. He was on the rolls of the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota (as a Non-enrolled Indian) listed as Majel's husband. He met grandma around this time, divorced Majel and married Lillian. They probably met around in early 1933. Freda was born in 1934. Fred went back to Stewart with Grandma Lillian. They lived in Santa Fe New Mexico where Mom was born. Then they lived in Globe Arizona. Then they finally moved back to Stewart. Both worked at the School and Museum.

I found the marriage records showing Fred marrying Majel. He was 24, already a dairyman, and married Majel, only 21 years old. Married September 2, 1922. Curiously, Fred did not know his mother's maiden name, nor Majel knew her mother's maiden name. L. L. Hawthorne was the minister, and Clara Tebo and Robert Walker were witnessess.

Was at enrolled at Fort Shaw August 27, 1910
