bullet  General Notes:

The following are two obituaries for our mother:

Rosemary (Mitchell) Clark, age 69, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness at Renown Hospital, Reno, Nevada, on March 25, 2008. Rosemary was a homemaker, a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and a former member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine /Sioux Tribes. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on May 13, 1938 to Frederick and Lillian (Murphy) Mitchell. Her family moved back to Nevada living in Schurz, and finally in Stewart where Rosemary attended Carson City area schools. Her parents worked at the Stewart Indian School and the Nevada State Museum. She married Walter Mosley (1955) and had five children while living in Carson City, and Houston, TX. After becoming a widow, she moved to Carson City, then to the Oakland/Bay Area where she met and married Paul Eugene Clark (1964). Together they had four more children before moving back to Carson City in 1973. They moved to Sacramento, CA in 1980, and eventually returned to retire in Fernley, Nevada in 1999.

Rosemary was known for cooking delicious meals for her large family; for her generosity and loving, kind heart; and compassion for those less fortunate. She loved her Native American Indian heritage, archeology, reading and history. Most importantly, she loved her Creator Father God, and was sustained by her faith in Jesus Christ during her years on this earth.

Rosemary was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and aunt. She is preceded in death by her parents’ Fred and Lillian Mitchell, brother, Frederick Daniel Mitchell, Jr., and grandparents Murphy Williams (Schurz, NV), Jennie Summers (Lee Vining, CA), and Daniel & Lulu (Garfield) Mitchell of Popular, Montana. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul Eugene Clark; son Daniel Mosley of Fernley, NV, daughter Karen Manriquez of Glendale, AZ, son John Mosley of Chandler, AZ, daughter Pam Metcalf of Glendale, AZ, son Joseph Mosley of Fernley, NV, daughter Margaret Robinson of Antelope, CA, daughter Marie Dave of Sacramento, CA, son William Clark of Antelope, CA, son Thomas Clark of Sacramento, CA; sister Freda Mitchell of Sparks, NV, sister Iyla Mae Rodriguez of San Bruno, CA, sister Ursula Webb of Oakland, CA; uncles Jack Williams of Hawthorne, NV, Irwin “Punky” Williams of Schurz, NV, and Everett “Chuck” Williams of Carson City, NV; and 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend will be greatly and sadly missed by many of those lives that she touched. No words can express the immense loss we feel in our hearts, yet we know she “fought the good fight” as a warrior, and that this is not good-bye, but poonedooa, we’ll see you again.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 am Tuesday at O’Brien, Rogers & Crosby, 600 West Second St., Reno, NV; with interment for 2pm following at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
