Playing forward on the expanded roster was fifteen year old Sarah Mitchell. Like many of her teammates, Sarah followed siblings to the school at Fort Shaw. The youngest of six, she was born to an Assiniboine-Chippewa mother, and an Anglo-Assiniboine father.

• Census: 1898. Sarh 9 years old in 1898
• School. this is the same Sarah Mitchell that was in the 1904 world chamionships basketball team from the Fort Shaw Indian boarding school
Sarah married Philip Courchene, son of Jean Louis Courchene and Marie Alphosine Azure, on 31 Dec 1908 in Great Falls, MT. (Philip Courchene was born on 10 Dec 1885 in Montana and died on 13 Aug 1963 in Family cemetery on his ranch.)
