bullet  General Notes:

Rattling Bag listed on BIA pedigree - husband non Indian

Confirmed that Marie Deschamps is his mother according to a metis website a Manitoba affidavit
Father confirmed as Colonel Mitchell! Says his father Scotchman and his mother a half-breed.

There was a horrible fight and Mother Deschamps was shot thru the heart and finally all of sons were killed. In the wicked family article, it says, “A few Deschamps did survive. David Mitchell’s wife and her younger sister (who I believe to be Marie), along with a five year old boy who may have been Mitchell’s child, went with Mitchell to Blackfeet country.

Found note on GenForum from Chelsea Connolly: Hi Vicky,
I know exactly who you need information about.
He was the Superintendent of Indian Affairs.
First married to my 5th great grandmother Marie "Rattling Thunder" Deschamps, and then to Martha Eliza Berry.

I have further information if needed.
