CHARLES HAWLEY SEATTLE -- Charles Francis Hawley died at the VA Hospital here on March 23. He was born in Dixon on Aug. 8, 1917, to Charles I. and Imelda (Morigeau) Hawley. He attended schools in Dixon and Thompson Falls, and earned a college degree from the University of Montana. Charles' work career included service in the Navy during World War II, the U.S. Postal Service and J.C Penney's in Washington. He was enrolled on the Fort Peck Reservation. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Adeline. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Donna Jean Grounds (Puyallup, WA); a brother, Wilford Hawley (Sheridan, WY); two sisters, Gertrude Hamilton (Olympia, WA) and Joeann Hawley (Ronan); and many cousins in and around Montana. In accordance with his wishes, there were no services. Burial was in Sumner, WA.
