In a 1930 census he was a fire chief for the city fire department, city of Williamsport
There's a quote from him in the Gazette: "I know a man who never wears an overcoat in the winter..he keeps warm thinking about the price of his wife's fur coat."

Congratulations due to Fire Chief Michael Clark, who has just completed 31 years as a member of the Williamsport Fire Department. When the late John Miles passed away, Chief Michael Clark seemed the logical successor, and the choice has been a good one and well deserved.
Michael married Kathryn Amann Clark. (Kathryn Amann Clark was born on 24 Jan 1888 and died on 20 Oct 1955.)
