Isabelle or Isabel Mitchell

Wow, according to a metis websight, this confirms what I already suspected, that DD Mitchell was with both Deschamp sisters. I did not know about Isabelle - Dave (DD's son) had a sister. Says Colonel Mitchell is her father! Says this is a Manitoba affidavit! In 1878 she lived in St. Baie St. Paul Parish.

In an 1881 Canadian census she is living with her husband Daniel and they are hunters living in Qu'Appelle, Territories, Northwest Territories.


In a 1901 census she is listed as living in File Hills. She is living with her two younger sons, George and Zechariah, and a grandson named Peter. She is 60 years old and says her birth year as 1840. Wow, amazing find. Census through MNC Historical online. This is DD Mitchell's daughter! both her sons working as farm laborers and she is listed as a widow and born in the US. She had four children that died in infancy or very young. They seemed to live in the File Hills area. She is living near her daughter, Catherine.

Isabelle married William Daniels or Daniel, son of Living and Living, on 6 Jun in 1853. (William Daniels or Daniel was born on 20 Aug 1822 and died before 1 May 1886.)
