Other information: Lionel Edsel Flynn, 79, of Oswego, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow. He was born on Feb. 2, 1929, to Thomas J. Flynn and Josephine Archdale Flynn. He was also raised by his step-father, Archie Belgard. He lived his entire life in the Oswego area. At a very young age, he broke horses for Shirley Bridges. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1956, serving one year in Korea. After the war, he worked for Slatts Lowe moving houses and buildings and he delivered gas and fuel for Standard Oil – Johnny Boyd. He also served on the Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board from 1964 to 1966. He farmed and ranched in the Oswego area from the 1950s until his death.

OSWEGO - Lionel Edsel Flynn, 79, of Oswego, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, of natural causes. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Flynn Ranch in Oswego. Interment will be in the Flynn Family Ranch in Oswego. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements. Lionel lived his entire life in the Oswego area. At a very young age, he broke horses for Shirley Bridges. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1956, serving one year in Korea. Flynn Sr. and his son Tom W. Flynn Jr. of Oswego, Perry W. Flynn and his children Jacob W. Flynn and Jeffrey W. Flynn of Oswego, Ernest L. Flynn Sr. (Yvonne) of Billings and their children Ernest L. Flynn Jr. (Wendy) and Stacee A. Flynn; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Merval "Skee" Flynn of California; sister, Velma Dyck (Abe) of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his mother and father; his stepdad, Archie Belgard; grandson Roger D.
