James "Bud" Brophy died on Friday, March 10, at Harney District Hospital. No services will be held at his request.
Brophy was born on March 9, 1931, in Hines to James and Ursula Brophy. He was raised and educated in Hines and Burns. He worked at the Edward Hines Lumber Mill for 45 years.
Brophy enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with many friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Verdyne and Tammie Brophy; sisters Paula McCallum, Ursual Brantley and Theresa Howes; and several nieces and nephews.
