Willis Smokey
Willis Smokey, 61, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, in Reno.
Smokey was born March 8, 1946, in Dresslerville, Nev., to Huntington
Smokey and Helen (Miller) Williams.
He was a retired industrial and maintenance and ordinance civil service
worker and served in the U.S. Army for many years. Smokey was a member of
Schurz Methodist Church and Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Smokey is survived by his children, Christopher, Marlaina, Michelle and
Christina Smokey, of Fallon; sisters, Betty Flint, of Gardnerville, Clauda
Nez, Schurz, Sharon Henry, Schurz and Loni Wahweah, all of Schurz;
brothers, Edwin "Fritz" Smokey, of Gardnerville, Darrell "Woody" Smokey,
Lyle Williams, and Wayne Williams, all of Schurz; eight grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the
tribal gym at 1589 Watasheumu in Dresslerville, Nev. Visitation will be
from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the gym.
Funeral arrangements are under the care ofe Walton's Chapel of the
Valley.
