bullet  General Notes:

Confusion over Louise Chateau's name

According to affidavit filled out by Louise herself, she said she was born about 1810 in the Northwest territories. She said she is a half-breed, her father's name Saucier a French Canadian,, and her mother, Francoise was her mother (a half breed). She spoke French. It was Sept. 18, 1875 and she was a widow to Francois St. Germain a farmer. She was trying to get the 160 acres or money. She chose the money.

bullet  Noted events in her life were:

• Alt. Birth. There were two dates in the LDS website for her birth: 1770/1816. I highly doubt the 1770 date as that would make her too old to bear children. At 1816, she would have been 41 when she had Isabelle.

• Fort Peck pedigree. on the Fort Peck pedigree, I show a Louise Chateau for Isabell's mom. The mormon pedigree says Louise Morand, but I think they are the same person, perhaps a married and maiden name.

• Fort Peck pedigree. BIA says that Isabell's mothre is Louise Chateau
