Francoise aka Marie Brunoche-Bruneau

Francoise aka Marie Brunoche-Bruneau
General Notes: I believe she is a full blood Chippewa Native. Isabelle, her granddaughter, Isabel St. Germain says in a 1920 census document that her own mother spoke Chippewa as her native tongue and her mother Louise was a half breed. That would mean Marie Brunoche was a full-blood chippewa. Francoise married Jean Baptiste Morand in 1809 in Northwest Territories. (Jean Baptiste Morand was born in 1790 in Winnepeg, Canada and died on 12 Jan 1859.) |
