Lucy Delaney, a former slave, was in the household of Fanny and Taylor Berry - she said they were kind slaveowners.According to Major Berry, Polly and her daughter Lucy were supposed to be freed upon his death according to his will. However, they were not. Upon Fanny's death, Lucy's father was sold. Polly Berry herself ended up being sold but won her freedom. Lucy became the slave of Marth Eliza, Fanny Berry's daughter, wife to David Dawson Mitchell. she eventually won her freedom as well.

Frances married Major Taylor Berry, son of Judge Washington Berry and Living. (Major Taylor Berry was born in Jul 1792 and died in Sep 1824.). The cause of his death was Pnuemonia as a result of a gunshot wound to the lungs during a duel.
